Board Member – Judy Stout

I was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ

After going to school for computer programing, I took a programming job in Los Angeles, CA.  After 2 years, I moved back to Phoenix where I raised my 3 children.

After my children were grown, I got a job in the aerospace industry working assembly, inspection, the stockroom and set up and ran 3 tool cribs.

I retired in 2010. Since then I have become involved in Cactus Wren block watch, Cactus Park Community Alliance and attended Citizens Police Academy.

I enjoy reading, traveling, mahjong and jigsaw puzzles.

Board Member – David Ford

Raised in Indianapolis, David became involved with electronics and entered college to pursue an engineering degree but left before completion to join a startup business creating minicomputers for use by telephone companies.  That eventually led to a job offer from a company which moved him to Phoenix in 1982 to head up a software engineering project.  In turn, that evolved into design projects for peripherals such as magnetic tape drives, thermal printers, and modems.  When the operations were being moved to the east coast in 1989, another job offer let him remain in Phoenix as a quality engineer for Sundstrand Aerospace, spending evenings and weekends to earn a four-year degree and then an MBA from Western International University.  Sundstrand was acquired by United Technologies and he retired from UTC in 2013 after 24 years and various job titles within the organization that included heading up a project to “modernize” the assembly processes.

After retiring, David became interested in the safety and security of his neighborhood and began attending Block Watch meetings for other neighborhoods.  He joined the Phoenix Neighborhood Patrol, and then became involved with the Neighborhood Alliance organization for Cactus Park Precinct.  He has reached out to his neighbors to get them to tell each other by text messages when they will be gone for a while so his neighbors can help watch for suspicious activity at each others’ homes.
