HELLO NEIGHBORS!

For our April 21st meeting we have invited Detective Brian Kornegay to be our guest speaker. His presentation entitled “Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design” focuses on things we can do around our homes to make them safer for us and less likely a target for thieves.   Attend the meeting and pick-up a tip or two to implement at your home.

The guest speaker at our May 19th meeting is Ms. Jan Sherwood, Deputy Parks and Recreation Director, assigned to the NW District Office (La Pradera Park).  She’ll talk about the two parks in our area (43rd & Maryland, and 39th & Glendale), improvements to them, challenges during this time of extensive homelessness, staffing responsibilities and WPNA’s use of the facilities for a G.A.I.N. event in the fall.  It is likely that Park Rangers will be in attendance also.

Election of WPNA officers for 2022-2023 will be held at the May 19th meeting.   Thus far, no one has stepped up to assume a role on the board, but current board members are willing to continue their duties for another year.  If you are interested in serving on the Board please contact Charlie McGoldrick, president, at charlie4007@aol.com or 602 329-5990.

THIS IS YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD.   JOIN YOUR NEIGHBORS WORKING TO MAINTAINA SAFE, CRIME AND BLIGHT FREE AREA IN WHICH TO LIVE.
